Problems that Occur After Dental Treatment

Swelling.
The swelling usually occurs after a certain action on the teeth, especially tooth extractions and periodontal surgery. Put a chunk of ice cubes (or a plastic bag of frozen peas or corn) on the cheeks can help prevent swelling. Chunks of ice are placed on the cheek for 25 minutes and then released for 5 minutes. If after 3 days the swelling persists or increases, or if pain is severe, the infection may have occurred and the patient should immediately see the dentist.

Dry-socket.
Dry socket (exposure to dental bone inside the bag causing delayed healing), can occur after removal of the lower back teeth. Usually the discomfort is reduced within 2-3 days after tooth extraction, and then suddenly get worse, usually accompanied by ear pain. Usually this will disappear by itself after one to several weeks, but the dentist can put into a bag bandages anesthetic for pain relief. These bandages are changed every 1-2 days for 1 week.

Bleeding.
Bleeding after oral surgery is often the case. Usually this can be dehentikan by pressing the surgical sites for several hours bertama, by biting the cotton for 1 hour. Bleeding in the mouth can be misleading because a small amount of blood will mix with saliva, so a lot of bleeding appear more real. If bleeding continues, the bleeding area is cleaned and then a thin piece of gauze or a new packet of tea bags soaked with re-bitten in the area. If the bleeding continues for more than a few hours, the patient should immediately see the dentist. People who regularly take anticoagulants or aspirin (even if only one tablet of aspirin / day), should submit it to the dentist at 1 week prior to surgery because these drugs increase the likelihood of bleeding. The drug dose can be adjusted or discontinued for a while.
