Causes and Symptoms onset Dental Caries

| 15.4.12

Cause
The things that support the occurrence of dental caries:
- Sensitive teeth, teeth that contain less fluorine or have holes, indentations or grooves that hold plaque.
- Bacteria, the mouth contains a large number of bacteria, but only certain types of bacteria that cause tooth decay. The most common is Streptococcus mutans.
- The remains of food.

Under normal circumstances, there are bacteria in the mouth. These bacteria convert all foods (especially sugars and carbohydrates) into acid.
Bacteria, acid, food debris and saliva combine to form a sticky material called plaque on the teeth. Plaque is the most commonly found in the back molars.
If not cleared then the plaque will form a mineral called tartar (calculus, tartar).
Plaque and calculus can irritate the gums causing gingivitis.

Symptom
Not all tooth pain caused by cavitation.
Toothache may occur due to:
- Root polluted, but does not rot
- Too strong to chew
- A broken tooth.
Blockage of the sinuses can cause teeth to become sensitive.

A cavity in the enamel does not cause pain; pain starts when the decay reaches the dentin.
Pain is felt when drinking cold drinks or eat sweets showed that the pulp is still healthy.
If treatment is performed at this stage, the tooth can be saved and will not appear there is pain and difficulty swallowing.

A kravitasi that gets close to or has reached the pulp causing irreparable damage.
Pain persists despite  eliminated (eg cold water). Even though dental pain without stimulation (spontaneous toothache).

If the bacteria enter the pulp and the pulp dies, the pain will go away temporarily. But not much later (several hours to several days) if used for biting or if the tongue or finger pressing the affected teeth, the teeth become sensitive due to inflammation and infection has spread out from the root tip and cause an abscess (pus).
Pus that collects around the teeth tend to push the teeth out of his pocket. Process will return the teeth to bite into place, with incredible pain.
Pus can continue to accumulate and cause swelling of the gums nearby or could spread further through the jaw (cellulitis) and flows into the mouth or even through the skin near the jaw.
