Restrictions should be employed on pregnant and nursing mothers, as whitening or bleaching ingredients can cause problems to their health. In addition, people giving hypersensitive teeth must avoid whitening, as the process enhances the sensitivity level and causes immense pain and discomfort.

The method of teeth whitening is simple. The enamel, which is the first tooth surface layer, is semi-translucent and clear. There is another layer below the enamel, called the dentin, which is usually yellow, but could be gray, brown or black. The underlying hue of the dentin is often penetrating through enamel, which shows clear signs of stains or marks on teeth. To whiten the lower layer of teeth or the dentin, the solution should be able to reach the layer. The solution then starts working by lightening the color of dentin, thereby giving your whiter teeth color.
